Haoushoukouken

[edit]

I'm referring to this line from the trivia:

"Yuri can use Haoushoukouken in the King of Fighters series, but not in Art of Fighting 2."

Actually, she can do that move in Art of Fighting 2. You have to learn it in a bonus stage, and when you learn it you can use the move in the main fight stages. Check moves list for the game at GameFAQs and you can see that this move is in Yuri's move set. I've deleted this trivia line. (Galvy 21:25, 7 February 2006 (UTC))[reply]

I Never Played As Yuri Before

[edit]

This is my first SNK character related article in Wikipedia. I never played a game where Yuri Sakazaki is playable before, but I played as her brother Ryo in the original Art of Fighting game. I started this article because the first game Yuri appeared in, the original Art of Fighting was my first SNK fighting game ever. She was a damsel in distress in that game. My second SNK character related article is on Robert Garcia. Tedius Zanarukando 2:00, Jan 1 2005 (EST).

Do not merge to list

[edit]

This article should not be merged into List of characters from The King of Fighters list. I object to articles on Kyokugenryu practitioners being merged-compressed into a list. There is and can be enough out-of-universe information to warrant this article to remain an individual article. Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando (talk) 05:43, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

how old is yuri

[edit]

"When she was 17 years old, Yuri was living in her father's Kyokugenryu dojo when crime began to infest the city of Southtown. Geese Howard blackmailed Takuma into working for him and became the de facto boss of Southtown, and ordered Takuma to kill Jeff Bogard" it says here she was 17 but.. when terry's dad was alive terry was a kid soo does this mean yuri is older than terry and shes really like 30 or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.146.98.189 (talk) 05:38, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Yuri was initially designed as a weak damsel in distress". Upon looking at the design/character development section, there is no mention of damsel distress
  • "To overcome her weak body" That is an odd choice of wording, can you please revise this? Also, this was never mentioned in the design/character development section
  • "Pls only link on the first mention and remove duplinks from Mai Shiranui, King, and Robert Garcia
  • Pls replace the source from ref 51 with a reliable source since it exists. Also, she is not a "background character", but a spirit from Smash Bros.
  • At reception "described her as adding to her family's "wonderful comedic existence" but felt she was more at peace there than in King of Fighters as part of the Women's Team." seems irrelevant. I suggest removing it and go straight like "Gavin Jasper of Den of Geek also praised her departure..."
  • "Manga artist Nobuhiro Watsuki designed the character of Makimachi Misao for the Rurouni Kenshin manga series with similarities to Mai Shiranui and Yuri, comically saying he was "making his own grave" due to the similarities with the SNK characters." This should be in the design/character development section.
  • "She was compared with the Street Fighter character Sakura Kasugano by Frosi" Who is "Frosi"?
  • "Elvortex noted that Yuri became popular for acting as SNK's own response to Dan Hibiki, as she also starts parodying Street Fighter characters, especially Ryu, by imitating their own moves in several KOF games." I don't think this is a reliable source. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 00:58, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I had to hide the Smash mention because I couldn't find another source. Thanks for the review.Tintor2 (talk) 01:21, 18 March 2025 (UTC) @Boneless Pizza!:[reply]
