Sharmarke Mohamud (born 31 December 1995), better known as Sharky, is a British YouTuber, entertainer, and podcast host. He is a founding member of the YouTube group Beta Squad and the creator of the SDS Podcast. He also manages SDS FC, a six-a-side football team that competes in the Baller League. In addition to his content creation career, Sharky has collaborated with Arsenal FC and co-founded the streetwear brand Primo Family Club.

Early life

Sharky was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, and is of Somali descent. He moved to London, England during his early childhood. He is the eldest of seven siblings. Sharky developed an early interest in football and content creation, eventually pursuing a career in digital media.

Sharky launched his YouTube channel on 17 August 2015 under the name afcSharky. Initially focused on football-related content, including FIFA gameplay and football challenges, his content later diversified to include pranks, skits, and collaboration videos. As of 2025, his channel has surpassed 1.3 million subscribers.[1]

Beta Squad

In 2019, Sharky co-founded the content collective Beta Squad alongside fellow British YouTubers Niko Omilana, Chunkz, AJ Shabeel, and KingKennyTv. The group gained popularity through comedy sketches, challenges, and lifestyle content, becoming one of the UK's most prominent YouTube groups.[2]

SDS Podcast

Sharky is the host of the SDS Podcast (Sharky Does Sports), a football-focused talk show where he discusses the latest topics in football and interviews notable figures from the sport. The podcast has been praised for its engaging format and growing fanbase.[3]

Collaborations with Arsenal

Sharky has collaborated with Arsenal Football Club on multiple occasions. In 2024, he hosted the club’s Ball Squad Trials and featured in their “Guess the Gooner” video series alongside players such as Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz. He also took part in Arsenal’s “Quickfire Questions” segment and was featured in the stadium artwork “Found a Place Where We Belong,” celebrating the club’s diverse community.[4]


Collaborations with the ATP

In 2024, Sharky partnered with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) to produce a series of interviews and lighthearted segments with top tennis players. As part of the ATP’s “Down the T” series, he interviewed several rising and elite stars, including:

  • Jannik Sinner – Took part in a relaxed interview discussing his journey and personality.
  • Ben Shelton – Appeared in an interview focused on his off-court persona.

Baller League

In 2025, Sharky launched and manages SDS FC, a six-a-side football team participating in the UK-based Baller League. The league includes YouTubers, online personalities, and former professional players, and is broadcast on Sky Sports. SDS FC quickly gained attention for their performances and Sharky’s leadership role.[5]

Primo Family Club

Sharky is the co-founder of Primo Family Club, a clothing brand launched with his cousin Ayvee. The brand blends streetwear and lifestyle aesthetics and has been featured in various pop-up events and social media campaigns.[6]

Match for Hope

Sharky participated in the Match for Hope charity football matches in Qatar, held at Stadium 974 in Doha. In both the 2023 and 2025 editions, he played alongside football legends such as Thierry Henry and Andrea Pirlo, as well as creators like AboFlah and KSI. Sharky was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the 2023 match.[7]

Beta Squad vs. AMP

On 2 June 2024, Sharky played in a charity match between Beta Squad and the American content group AMP at Selhurst Park. The match, played in aid of The Water Project, ended in a 6–6 draw and featured several guest appearances. The game was later abandoned due to a pitch invasion.[8]

Personal life

Sharky is a lifelong supporter of Arsenal F.C. and often shares his football opinions through social media and his podcast. He has expressed interest in using football as a tool to engage with young audiences and promote positivity in the community.[9]

Match for Hope

Sharky participated in the Match for Hope charity football matches held in Qatar in 2024 and 2025. These events brought together football legends and internet personalities to raise funds for the Education Above All Foundation. In the 2024 edition, Sharky was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). The 2025 match at Stadium 974 raised over QR39 million (approximately $10.7 million).[10]
